Accolades at IISF: 2023

Navya Sharma of Class XII played a pivotal role at the Students’ Science Village during The India International Science Festival (IISF:2023). The event, a vibrant showcase of Bharat’s scientific and technological prowess was organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Earth Sciences, from 17 to 20 January, 2024.

Invited as an expert, Navya actively contributed to fostering critical thinking, engaging students from across the nation in an interactive and enjoyable exploration of science.

Furthermore, Dr. Shilpa Raghuvanshi Chauhan,  PGT Biotechnology faculty member, garnered accolades in the national workshop. Her innovative pedagogy and significant contributions to science education were acknowledged, marking a testament to the excellence in teaching and dedication to advancing scientific knowledge within our school.

IRIS National Fair : 2023

Navya Sharma, a Class XII student, showcased remarkable ingenuity at the prestigious Initiative for Research and Innovation in STEM (IRIS) National Fair: 2023. Supported by Broadcom and the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, this event stands as the country’s largest research-based science fair, dedicated to fostering STEM research among young innovators.

Amidst the rigorous selection process, which involved multiple rounds of judgment by a distinguished panel of over 30 judges, Navya Sharma’s project, “Socks Pairing Device For Visually Impaired,” emerged as one of the top 100 projects nationwide. Under the mentorship of Dr. Shilpa Raghuvanshi Chauhan, Navya’s outstanding work in the “Robotics And Intelligent Machine” category earned her the coveted title of a finalist.

The pinnacle of her achievement came when Navya was honoured with the prestigious “Public Choice Project 2024” award. This recognition was bestowed upon her by the Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Science & Technology, Department of Science & Technology. Navya Sharma’s success not only highlights her individual brilliance but also underscores the significance of IRIS as a crucial platform for showcasing groundbreaking STEM projects in India.

All India School Contest-2023

We are thrilled to share that Ms. Shivangi Walia, TGT Science and Vidushi Bhardwaj of class VIII H have been invited to partake in a momentous felicitation ceremony hosted by Amity International School, Noida. This esteemed invitation comes as a result of their exceptional achievement in clinching the top spot in the Junior category at the National Level of the All India School Contest-2023, organised by the prestigious Indian Centre for Plastic in the Environment (ICPE).

Their project triumphed amidst stiff competition, standing out victoriously among 7000 entries from all over the country. The tournament served as a vibrant platform, igniting discussions on creativity, innovation, and technology, revolving around the pivotal theme of “Recycling of Plastics Waste”.

Our team showcased their ingenuity through a captivating film, unravelling the transformative journey of turning waste into a valuable resource. This cinematic masterpiece not only captured hearts but also illuminated the path towards a sustainable future.

International Informatics Olympiad 2023

State Level Inspire Manak Awards

Sharvil Rai of class XI A has achieved remarkable success at the INSPIRE Awards – MANAK 2022-23, with his ground breaking Smart Grain Spoilage Indicator. Out of 166 exhibits from Delhi schools at the District/State Level Exhibition, Sharvil’s project stood out, earning him a spot in the top five. Developed under the guidance of mentor Ms. Bhavna Kaushik, the sensor-based real-time monitoring system offers an affordable, sustainable solution for early spoilage detection in stored grains, potentially reducing economic losses for small-scale farmers.

Sharvil’s achievement not only highlights his ingenuity but also emphasizes the significance of innovative solutions in addressing agricultural challenges. His project has now qualified for the National level competition.

State Level Achievement – Sanskrit Poem Recitation

Abhinav Gautam of class XI B secured the coveted First Position in the State Level Sanskrit Poem Recitation Competition held on 7th December 2023. It was organised by Directorate of Education. His profound understanding of the nuances of poetry and his commitment to linguistic and cultural pursuits helped him achieve the distinguished position.

State Level Achievement – English Extempore

Akashansh Dadwal and Vidushi Bhardwaj of Class VIII H secured Third Position at in Junior Boys and Girls Category in the prestigious State Level English Extempore Competition held on 6th December 2023. It was organised by Directorate of Education. Students’ exceptional eloquence, critical thinking and spontaneity set them apart in a field of participants.

State Level Achievement – Vocal Light Music

Kannanvir Singh of Class VIII B secured the Third Position in State Level Vocal Light Music Competition held on 7th December 2023, organised by Directorate of Education. His remarkable singing capabilities marked by a mesmerising vocal range earned him the prestigious accolade. The competition featured participants from across the state, making his achievement truly commendable.

State Level Achievement – English Essay Writing Competition

Nimit Yadav of class VII G secured Third Position at the State Level English Essay Writing Competition held on 6th December 2023. His exceptional linguistic prowess and insightful analysis has earned him well-deserved recognition. His essay stood out for its eloquence, creativity, and profound understanding of the given theme.

STATE LEVEL JUNIOR BOYS DECLAMATION COMPETITION

In a remarkable display of eloquence and oratory skills, Akshansh Dadwal, student  Class VIII H, secured the Second Position in the State Level Junior Boys Declamation Competition. The event, organised by the Directorate of Education, was a fierce competition among young orators from various schools across the state.

His achievement is a testament to his exceptional speaking prowess, intellectual depth, and confidence in public speaking.

State Level Achievement - Junior Girls English Debate Competition

Vaishnavi Tiwari (VIII F) and Bhavya Agarwal (VIII A) showcased remarkable debating prowess and secured the Third Position, adding a feather to the school’s cap at the State Level Junior Girls English Debate Competition.

Their articulate and persuasive arguments, eloquence and command over the language not only impressed the judges but also exemplified the dedication and hard work put into honing their debating skills.

State Level Achievement – Hindi Declamation

Dishita Golchha of Class VIII D made the school proud by securing the Second Position at State Level Hindi Declamation Competition held on 8th December 2023. It was organised by the Directorate of Education. Her eloquence and command over the language earned her the well-deserved recognition.

State Level Achievement - English Poem Recitation

Manas Chawla of class XC attained the Second Position at the State Level English Poem Recitation Competition held on 7th December 2023. It was organised by the Directorate of Education. He exhibited exceptional talent and skill as well as captivated the audience with his poetry.

Inter School Athletic Meet

The students of classes VI to X brought honour to the school by achieving remarkable success at the Inter-School Athletic Meet hosted by Bharat National Public School in Ram Vihar, Delhi. The young Salwanians demonstrated their prowess in two categories: Under-14 years and Under-16 years (Boys & Girls), securing a total of 18 medals—7 Gold, 2 Silver, and 9 Bronze.

National Contest on Plastic Recycling

Vidushi Bhardwaj of class VIII bagged the First Position in Junior category at the National Level in the All India School Contest-2023 organised by the Indian Centre for Plastic in the Environment. Vidushi’s contribution stood out prominently as her film demonstrated a profound understanding of the myriad ways in which waste can be transformed into a valuable resource.

The competition  witnessed active participation from distinguished schools across Mumbai, Goa, Kharagpur, Telangana, and various other parts of the country. The theme of the contest, “Recycling of Plastic Waste: How it Works & why it Matters,’’ encouraged participants to explore and showcase their insights into the critical issue of plastic waste management.

Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan 2023-24

The students participated in Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan 2023-24 organised by Vijnana Bharati in collaboration with NCERT. Out of 62,000 participants, 127 students of our school qualified at the State Level with the following students making the school proud by emerging victorious at State Level: Ms. Surekha Phogat, Ms. Jasmeet Kaur Gulati, and Ms. Isha organised the Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan 2023-24 at our school. Bhavya Goyal and Avik Malhotra of class IX E created an original Canva presentations ‘The Internet and Online Safety’ during prelims and bagged the First Prize in AdVista event organised by St Marks Sr Sec School.

Athav Arora and Rudra Gupta of class VII G secured Consolation Prize in the CodeQuest event. The students transformed code into interesting stories and fun games using Scratch.

Randhawa Memorial Distinguished Teacher Award 2023

We are extremely proud to share that Ms Jyotsna Grover, Vice Principal has been conferred with the prestigious Smt. Surrinder Randhawa Memorial Distinguished Teacher Award 2023 by the Salwan Education Trust.

The Trust believes in recognizing and celebrating the efforts of teachers in pursuit of excellence. Ms. Grover received a citation and a cash reward of Rs. 50,000/ from the Chief of Army Staff, General Manoj Pande, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC during the felicitation ceremony held at Salwan Public School, Gurugram. The award has been instituted by the family of Mrs. Surrinder Randhawa, former Vice-Principal of Salwan Girls School, in her memory.

Ms. Jyotsna Grover, Vice Principal, Salwan Public School, Rajendra Nagar with nearly 30 years of service in the school has had a far-reaching influence on her students over the years. She has played a prominent role in shaping the revised CBSE English Course (Communicative) textbooks for Classes 9 and 10, aligning them with the competency-based learning focus of NEP 2020. The CBSE Centre of Excellence, Delhi has recognised her for the numerous Capacity Building Programmes conducted by her for thousands of teachers across the country on a wide spectrum of educational themes such as Innovative Pedagogies, Experiential Learning, and Gender Sensitivity among others.

Revolutionising Education: A National Win for Innovative Pedagogy

Dr. Shilpa Raghuvanshi Chauhan, PGT Biotechnology, has showcased her expertise by securing the National Position in Vidya Amrit Mahotsav (VAM)-2022-23, highlighting her dedication to “Innovative Pedagogy”. Her project, using the game of Stapoo to teach the structure of heart, stood out amongst 5.99 lakh projects as Delhi’s sole representative and has ranked 4 nationwide. The inclusivity and engagement fostered by her affordable game design reflects a commendable approach to effective learning.

Kanak Sharma of class XII-G bagged the Second Position in the International Oratorical Competition hosted by Ahlcon International School, to commemorate Constitution Day.

Navya Sharma's Groundbreaking Socks Pairing Device for Visually Impaired Showcased at ASEAN SUMMIT 2023 in Malaysia

Navya Sharma student of Class XII, under the mentorship of Dr. Shilpa Raghuvanshi Chauhan, had the privilege of showcasing her acclaimed project, the ‘Socks Pairing Device for Visually Impaired’, at the ASEAN SUMMIT 2023 in Langkawi, Malaysia. The project was selected among the top nine projects to represent the ingenuity and creativity of student innovators from India.

This groundbreaking device features a tactile design meticulously crafted to address the unique needs of visually impaired users, enabling them to correctly pair socks. Navya, a recipient of the prestigious National Award at the INSPIRE MANAK, had emerged victorious from a remarkable pool of 7.5 lakh projects submitted under the competition. She was bestowed the National Award by Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Minister of Science and Technology in India.

Not only does this device stand as a testament to Navya’s ingenuity, but it also serves as a beacon of inclusivity and technological advancement. The ASEAN summit provided a platform for Navya and her mentor to present their innovation before key dignitaries, including Chang Lih Kang, Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI) of the Government of Malaysia, and other distinguished guests like Dr. B.N. Reddy, High Commission of India, Malaysia and scientists from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), India. Their presence underscored the significance of Navya’s contribution to the field of science and technology.

Navya Sharma, student Class XII, had the privilege of participating in the Student Innovator segment of the programme “Nai Soch Nai Kahani” with Ms Smriti Irani, Minister of Women and Child Development of India. Airing live on December 6, 2023, at 9:00 AM on AIR, the exclusive broadcast provided Navya with a platform to recount her inspiring journey to clinch the prestigious award INSPIRE- MANAK 2023.

Navya, during the programme, not only shared the compelling story behind her national award-winning project, but also provided insights into its international presentation. Union Minister Smriti Irani, impressed by Navya’s achievements and the innovative nature of her project, expressed her heartfelt appreciation. We are glad to share that the school won the ‘Best School Delegation Trophy’ at the Salwan Model United Nations Conference (SAMUN) organised by Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar on 23-24 November 2023. In the pursuit of scientific knowledge, Salwanians showcased their intellectual brilliance by garnering accolades in the Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) Examination conducted in October 2023.

Fourteen promising scholars excelled at the District Level and five of them have qualified for participation at the State level, bringing pride to the school.

YOUTH IDEATHON 2023

The project ‘SOLUTION SEEKERS,’ developed by Class IX students, has achieved recognition among the top 100 teams in Youth Ideathon 2023. This premier festival for startup ideas is tailored for school students by the CBSE to cultivate their entrepreneurial talents. Participants had to identify societal challenges and offer solutions under the theme ‘MERA IDEA JO BADAL DE BHARAT.’ The team comprised:

Adobe Work Experience Program

The students of class X bagged the Second Position out of 542 participants in the project submitted on the theme of Digital India: Vision 2030, and made the school proud. The students participated in the Adobe Work Experience Program organised by Adobe Inc. They were felicitated during the Grand Finale hosted at Adobe Noida Office (Sector 132) on 27th October 2023. For their project submissions, students presented weekly contributions including posters, animations, video stories, and presentations using Adobe Express. This endeavour offered invaluable learning as students not only became proficient with various Adobe softwares but also tapped into their creative potential. The students of Salwan Public School,  Rajendra Nagar brought laurels by achieving top positions in various categories at both Junior and Senior levels in the Zonal Competitions organised by the Department of Education (DOE). Their remarkable achievements are a testament to their hard work, commitment, and perseverance.

Mole Day Inter-school Competition

The students of class XI B, Amaya Karwal and Bhavika Kapoor, made the school prpid by securing the Third Position in the Mole Day Inter School Competition organized by Quarks, The Chemistry Club of Bal Bharati Public School, Rohini.

The students showcased their talent by creating a remarkable sculpture/model of Benzene, a cyclic compound, using sustainable materials such as gooseberries, Carandus plum, Cluster beans, and wooden sticks. In addition to their creative presentation, they produced a concise 2-3 minute video detailing the physical and chemical properties of Benzene while utilizing the same sculpture. Furthermore, they skillfully explained the structure of Benzene along with its hybridization. Both students demonstrated a deep understanding of the topic, making it a valuable learning experience.

Professional Excellence Award

Ms. Rekha Navani, PGT Commerce, was honoured with the Professional Excellence Award by the Commerce Teachers’ Foundation. This recognition was bestowed in acknowledgment of the exceptional performance of her students in Business Studies during the CBSE Exams 2022-23. Innovative Empowerment: Visionary Solution for the Visually Impaired- INSPIRE Manak Award

The school is delighted to share the incredible achievement of Navya Sharma, student of class XII, of securing the most coveted FIRST position in the prestigious National INSPIRE Manak Award for the project ‘Pairing the Right Pair’, under the mentorship of Dr. Shilpa Chauhan, PGT Biotechnology. Navya was awarded a gold medal by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Honorable Minister of Science and Technology. With just 60 recipients chosen from one million participants, this achievement stands as a remarkable feat.

The “Sock Pairing Project” employs AI and machine vision to determine weight and colour match, beeping upon a correct pair identification. This cost-effective solution fosters independence and social inclusion for the visually impaired. The commendable journey of this outstanding project includes accolades from an esteemed panel at IIT Delhi’s INSPIRE Manak Mentorship Program in August 2023. Furthermore, the National Innovation Foundation-India (NIF-INDIA) saw its potential for wider application, with Scientist G, Sh. Mahesh Patel, envisioning its ascent to a commercial platform.

We are pleased to announce our students’ outstanding achievements at the Resonance Model United Nations (MUN) 2023, organised by New Era Public School, Mayapuri. The event served as a platform for students to showcase their diplomatic skills and global awareness.

Congratulations to Raghav Gulati and Raunit Gandhi for qualifying the ICode Global Hackathon, and making it to the Global Finale scheduled on 30 September 2023! With more than 70,000 students initially registering for the competition, making it to the Global Finals is a remarkable achievement. Being among the 8000 students who reached the India National Finals and then advancing to the Global Finals truly demonstrates their exceptional skills and dedication.

Mindsparks अनुसंधान - 2023

Congratulations to Jashn Madan and Vidushi Bhardwaj from Class VIII-G and VIII-H for securing the first position in the junior level of the ‘Mindsparks अनुसंधान – 2023’ Inter-School Science Competition hosted by Salwan Public School, Gurugram. The competition drew over 20 schools from Delhi and Gurugram. Jashn and Vidushi’s working model on ‘ZERO FOSSIL FUELS IN URBAN TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM’ brilliantly showcased innovation in line with the theme of ‘Green Technology.’ Kudos to their dedication and creativity!

Explorika 2023

We are thrilled to share that Nirmit Gupta of class XII-C and Rosy Khanna of class XII-A bagged the first prize in Kitchen-a-Laboratory. Through a simple experiment using kitchen essentials, students had to explain a concept of Physics.

Aarav Nagpal of class VII C and Aahana Gupta of class VIII D also bagged the second prize in Math-O-Graphic. The students depicted the G20 anthem and made an infographic that elaborated as well as reflected on the similarities and differences between USA & UK based on their economic insights. Both the competitions were organised by Bal Bharti Public School, Rohini.

CENBOSEC is a biannual e-magazine of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) that serves as a valuable platform for schools affiliated to the Board to access updates and share insights on innovative teaching practices and educational developments.

The article highlights that the School’s approach to education revolves around a comprehensive implementation plan that encompasses three fundamental elements: interdisciplinary faculty learning communities, career counseling, and an Innovative IPL (Identify, Produce, Learn) mode of teaching. Nurturing Mathematics Wizards

With great pride, we would like to share that two students of our school, Nimitt Sancheti (Class IV) and Jayesh Goyal (Class VIII) have secured an International Position in the International Maths Olympiad 2022-23. The School was also awarded with a Consolation Prize for Maximum Participation in the Olympiad by the students of the school.

Mr. Prince Teotia (PGT Maths) was  honoured with the Ramanujan Award 2022 for Excellence in Mathematics.

Subject Expert & Material Developer for Class X CBSE Textbooks

It is our pride to share that Ms Jyotsna Grover, Vice Principal, SPS Rajendra Nagar is among the key Material Developers for the Revised CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) Literature Reader and Main Course Book (Communicative English Course) for Class X. The textbooks have been redesigned to focus on High Order Thinking Skills. The books mark a clear shift from Content Based to Competency Based Learning.

Ms. Jyotsna Grover’s contributions have been acknowledged by the CBSE and the name of Salwan Public School Rajendra Nagar has been published on the ‘Credits’ Page of the textbooks.

Book Review in the Magazine - Abhyuday : Happiness Abound

We are glad to share that a  review of the famous book Tuesdays with Morrie  by Mitch Albom, penned by Ms Jyotsna Grover, Vice Principal SPS has been published in the April edition of Abhyuday – Happiness Abound, a magazine published quarterly by the Directorate of Education. The theme of the issue was ‘Mindset : A Path towards Happiness’. The magazine is a stepping stone to  build the right mindset to be successful and develop a sense of global citizenship.

Vidya Amrit Mahotsav

With great pride, we would like to share that the project submitted by Dr.Shilpa Raghuvanshi Chauhan, PGT Biotechnology has been ranked as the No.1 Project by the State Delhi for National Level on the basis of criterion provided by NCERT.

Vidya Amrit Mahotsav is an innovative pedagogy festival in which SCERT, Delhi invited all the teachers and school leaders to submit their innovative practice as projects on the DIKSHA app.

She designed a STAPOO game and correlated it with the structure and functioning of the human heart. The objective of the project was to help students learn human anatomy in an interesting way.

Her innovative project has been featured in the Times of India on 17th March 2023.

Brain Bee Quiz

It’s our pleasure to share that Saumya Jain and Veydant Nanda of Class XI A participated in the Delhi NCR Regional Brain Bee- 2023 contest. They were amongst the top 10 students who reached the final round of the quiz contest.

The Brain Bee Quiz in India is a live question-and-answer competition about neuroscience held for the students of Class XI (10 +1, CBSC, ICSC) or Junior Inter students with Biology. The best young brains in India are quizzed about the brain and how it relates to intelligence, memory, emotions, sensations, movements, stress, aging, sleep, and brain disorders.

Nurturing Creative Expressions

It’s our pleasure to share that our students got an opportunity to participate in the Mega Book Writing Competition organized at National Young Authors’ Fair. The students were assisted by an AI-powered tool on the BriBooks.com platform in their creative writing process. They also got a chance to promote their books on e-commerce platforms. Self-composed stories of three students from the senior wing have been published on Bribooks.com.

NPSC Literature Fest

It’s our pleasure to share that Kamya Dewan of class XII C was invited for a conversation at the National Progressive Schools’ Conference Literature Fest 2023 on 18th February 2023. Kamya is the author of the book ‘The Adventure Calls: A Voyage to Hozphine Island’. She shared the stage with revered authors.

 The Literature Festival was a platform for a lively exchange of views on literature, books, and ideas. The festival was attended by a plethora of renowned authors, poets, and IAS officers. Padma Vibhushan Dr. Sonal Mansingh and a distinguished Member of Parliament graced the occasion as the chief guests.

The event was a rewarding experience for the budding authors.

India International Olympiad

It’s our pleasure to share that 42 computer wizards of the school have bagged the gold, silver and bronze medals in the India International Olympiad at the State and International level.

The IIO examination is based on Computer Science, giving students a chance to test their logical, analytical, and computational abilities.  It also improves them and gives them knowledge about international standards of computer science at both the national and international levels.

Inspire Manak Awards 2022-23

‘Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research’ (INSPIRE) scheme is one of the flagship programmes of Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India. The INSPIRE Awards – MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspirations and Knowledge), being executed by DST in collaboration with National Innovation Foundation – India (NIF), aims to motivate students to innovate and develop scientific temperament.

Sharvil Rai (Class X E) of SPS Rajendra Nagar has been selected at the District level for the project “Smart Grain Spoilage Indicator” and has been awarded a sum of Rs 10,000 from the Government of India for designing the model. The project was mentored by Ms Bhavna Kaushik.

Paper Presentation on Educating Indian Tribals

A Paper titled “ ZIP LOCK MODEL FOR EDUCATING INDIAN TRIBALS: A Multipronged Approach for Educational, Social and Economic Equity” authored by Ms Priyanka Barara (Principal, SPS Rajendra Nagar) and Dr. Shilpa Raghuvanshi Chauhan (PGT, Biotechnology, SPS Rajendra Nagar) has been shortlisted for a presentation at the National Conference on School and Teacher Education, organized by the SCERT, New Delhi from 1st to 2nd February, 2023. This paper highlights a unique model of mainstreaming tribal students through a Native Language Social and Cultural Effort that addresses the feared exclusion of tribals from the world

SCERT Content Development

SCERT launched a project in September, 2022 to provide a platform to the creativity and innovative pedagogies practised by the teachers in elementary classes. To create a repository of innovative pedagogies for school educators, the best  innovative pedagogies have been selected.

Ms. Deepika Sharma submitted her entry, and two of her game based group activities designed for upper primary classes have been selected for publication. Being selected for best pedagogical teaching practices is a great accomplishment and a true honour as it is a testament to the teacher’s ability to effectively engage and educate students, and to create a positive and productive learning environment. It is also an opportunity to share her successful teaching strategies with other educators, and to contribute to the ongoing improvement of the education system as a whole.

Accolades at National Children Science Congress (NCSC)

NCSC is a flagship program of the National Council for Science and Technology Communication, Department of Science and Technology , Government of India. The aim of the program is to kindle curiosity in children and provide the opportunity to unfold their creativity.

It’s our proud privilege to share that Arnav Chauhan of Class VI and Adit Bagga of Class VIII  have been declared the winners in the Junior Category NCSC District level Competition, for their project “Swachh hain toh swastha hai: Self- cleaning Public Toilet”.

Whereas. Khajit Manchanda of Class X and Yashica Sharma of Class IX are the winners in the Senior category for their project “Real-time Grain Spoilage Detector”. The winners will now be competing in the State level competition. 

Inter-School Mental Health Awareness Fest

Our Health crusaders participated in the Online Inter-School Mental Health Awareness Fest held at Sri Venkateshwar International School, Dwarka and won accolades for the school. 

Souvik Sasmal of Class VIII A (SPS A) and Kanishk of Class X C secured the second position in the event Mosaic-o – Mania (Paper Collage Making). 

Ishika Kawatra of class XI A and Rhea Midha of Class XI A composed a poem on the theme ‘Mental Health Awareness’ and secured the third position in the event.

Mole Day Competition at Bal Bharti

Ishika Kawatra (XIA) and Jia Arora (XIA) grabbed the First Position in the Quarks Online Competition organised by the Chemistry Club of Bal Bharti Public School, Rohini on Mole Day.  The innovative pair created a self-help book on the identification of 3 cations and 3 anions from the class XII lab manual related to their curriculum using a digital tool WAKELET. Congratulations!

Children’s World Your Pages Competition 2022

Our Approach to Sustainable Development

Aaryan Sharma and Shlok Advani of Class XII-C grabbed the Runners Up Trophy in the Trick or Trade Event held as a part of the event ‘Synergy’ hosted by The Srijan School, Model Town. The event tested participants’ knowledge of approaches towards Sustainable Development and Economics, along with the ability to strategize and trick. It included a debate on “EV Cars over Petrol Cars- a Boon or a Bane”, Quiz on Economic Affairs and an auction, particularly buying and selling of resources that can lead to Sustainable Development.

Debate Competition

It’s our proud privilege to share that Jia Arora  of Class XI A and Kanak Sharma of Class XI F won the third position and prize money of Rs. 5000 in the ‘Dr. V.K. Williams Memorial Inter School Debate Competition’ organized by Mount Carmel School, Anand Niketan on 15th October 2022. The topic of the debate was ‘The House Would Use Force to Make Peace’. The competition was judged on the basis of interpretation, content, fluency, and response to interjection.

Technophilia 3.0

Pranavee Singhal (XI C) & Aditya Bhalla of Class (XI C) grabbed the third position in the Online Debate Competition (Embattle) in the Inter-school event, Technophilia 3.0 organised by Mamta Modern Sr.Secondary School, Vikaspuri. More than 125 schools participated in this online event.

The students presented a debate on the topic ‘Glass is a more sustainable alternative to Plastic.’ The students were judged on creativity, relevance, originality, and influence.

Essay Writing Competition

Keshiva Singh of Class XII E secured the third prize in the Essay Writing Competition organized by Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on the occasion of ‘World Hospice and Palliative Care Day.’

She had penned down her thoughts on the topic “Caring for those in Terminal Illness”. She was awarded a certificate and trophy by Dr. Sushma Bhatnagar- a Professor and Head of Anaesthesiology, Pain and Palliative Care, at the Institute Rotary Cancer Hospital, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India.

School Innovation Council

We are proud to share that the school has established the School Innovation Council (SIC202116040) as per the guidelines of Innovation Cell, Ministry of Education, Government of India. The school has been awarded a certificate for the same by the Ministry of Education during the academic year 2022-23.

‘School Innovation Council’ is a novel initiative to systematically handhold schools in establishing ideation, innovation, and entrepreneurial ecosystem in a sustainable manner. This initiative was launched on 1st July 2022 by the Hon’ble Secretary, Department of School Education, MoE, the Chairperson, Central Board of Secondary Education, and the Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education. The programme is inspired by the New Education Policy which lays huge emphasis on promoting out-of-the-box thinking amongst students.

Our Council consists of the Principal, Senior Teachers, students, and an eminent member of the Managing Committee of the school, Shri Srikant Sastri.

Parth Nijhawan (XII B) and Sukhleen Kaur (X D) are the winners of the KVRSS Spark Jeevanam Award for the project entitled “Household Waste Water treatment using Natural Coagulants”. Both teams have been awarded Rs 10,000 each for their innovation.

IIHM Teachers' Day Awards 2022 Because Teachers Change Lives

International Institute of Hotel Management, Delhi hosted the Teachers’ Day Award Ceremony on 21st September 2022 to honour the exemplary teachers for their service to the nation. The Chief Guest of the event was Mr Adrian Chadwick – Regional Director South Asia, British Council.

Salwanians Making a Mark in National-Level Inter-School competition: Desh Aur Hum

Salwan Public School, Rajendra Nagar was able to mark its presence in several competitions that were conducted under the aegis of National Academy of Direct Taxes and Salwan Education Trust. Gurbani Kaur of class 10th bagged a trophy for her performance in Elocution and the Nukkad Natak team of the school won a consolation prize. The school was also featured as a semifinalist in the event – Mark My Words.

Science Competition - Together We Can

It’s our proud privilege to share that four students of our school Jayesh Goyal (VIII B), Tanush Kohli (VIII-C), Guraansh Singh (VII B), and Seerat Kaur (VII -B) were awarded the winners trophy for their excellent presentation of the model Kid-pure and Xylo-pure Water filtration units  designed by them on the principles of Biomimicry. The competition was organized by Nirmal Bhartia School in collaboration with Biomimicry India.

We hope that our future inventors will be able to provide cost-effective and environment-friendly solutions to the current problems, and make this earth a better place for everyone.

SYMSCI 2022

Saarthak Sehgal and Sharvil Rai of class X E have bagged a silver medal in the science symposium-SYMSCI 2022 organized by St. Columba’s School on 29th July 2022. The competition aimed at apprising children about the solutions to the problem of Sustainable Urban Life. They designed the prototype of smart circuit designs named “Gen Z circuits: A user-sensitive circuit design for sustainable urban life”. These smart circuits will operate only when there is any user, else the fans and bulbs installed in public places will switch off by themselves. Indeed, a great way to save Electricity and conserve the environment!

Capacity Building Programme on Art Integration across Curriculum

Art has the power to transform, to illuminate, to educate, inspire and motivate.

Ms Jyotsna Grover, Vice Principal, SPS Rajendra Nagar was the CBSE expert for conducting a Capacity Building Programme on Art Integration across Curriculum at Adarsh Public School, Vikas Puri on 28th June 2022. Art integration is an approach to engage students in creative processes by exploring, reflecting, applying, and demonstrating knowledge in various areas. Ms Grover deliberated on how performing and visual arts can help learners develop creativity and problem solving skills. Kolb’s Cycle of Experiential Learning was also discussed at length. The participants were engaged in a host of hands-on activities on how various art forms can be incorporated in lesson plans to fulfil core objectives of Cognitive, Psychomotor and Affective domains. The session received excellent feedback from all the participants.

English Creative Writing Competition

It’s our proud privilege to share that Rashi Parcha of Class VIII C has won a Consolation Prize in English Creative Writing Competition 2022-23 (Junior Category) organized by Ramjas Primary School, Daryaganj on 22nd April,2022. The competition witnessed participation from 39 schools and provided an opportunity to budding authors to hone their creative skills.

ECO-CLUB AWARD 2022

It’s a moment of pride that the Eco Club of the School has been awarded the Certificate of Excellence by the Department of Environment, Forest and Wildlife. On the occasion of the World Environment Day, ‘Harit Utsav ‘was organised by the Department of Environment, Forest and Wildlife at Indira Gandhi Stadium Complex. Students pledged to save the environment and reduce the use of single-use plastic. ‘Green Action Plan-2022-23’ was launched by Sh. Gopal Rai, Hon’ble Minister on this occasion to undertake a plantation drive with great zeal and vigour in  Delhi.

Ms Anjali Agarwal, TGT Science attended the event with the students of Eco Club and received the award on behalf of the school. 

Mukhyamantri Vigyan Pratibha Pariksha

Four students of our school have qualified for MVPP-2022. The exam was held on 27th February 2022 and the results have been declared recently. Mukhyamantri Vigyan Pratibha Pariksha (MVPP) is a scholarship exam conducted between January to March by the Science Branch of the Directorate of Education in Delhi.

Somya Kumar (X B) secured rank 11, Devesh Haldwal (X B) attained rank 112, Ishaan Purohit (X B SPSA) and Vaibhav Yadav (X D) got rank 269 and rank 415 respectively. The students have qualified for the exam and are now eligible for a scholarship.

Inter-School Quiz Competition ‘QUIZZIT - 2022’

Adarsh Jain and Prattyush Kala of Class XII E made the School proud by bagging the First Position in an Inter-School Quiz Competition ‘QUIZZIT – 2022’ organised by Apeejay School, Pitampura. Whereas, Siya Dua (V D) and Khanak Rustagi (V B) secured the Second Position among 18 reputed schools across Delhi – NCR. The online quiz was held from 21st April – 23rd April, 2022.

Subject Expert & Content Developer for Class IX CBSE Textbooks

It is our pride to share that Ms Jyotsna Grover, Vice Principal of the School is among the key Content Developers for the Revised CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) Literature Reader and Main Course Book (Communicative English Course) for Class IX. The textbooks have been redesigned to focus on High Order Thinking Skills and thus, meet the needs of the 21st Century. The books mark a clear shift from Content Based to Competency Based Learning.

Paper Publication in SCERT Publication

Ms. Mala Kapoor (PRT – English) participated in the National Seminar on Art Integrated Learning organised by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Delhi on 28th March 2022. During the prestigious event, Ms. Mala presented her research paper titled – ‘Art as a Pedagogical Device for Learning of Languages’. She received a certificate and a memento for her work. Her paper has been published in the SCERT Publication – ‘Art Integrated Learning for Elementary Education Compendium’. More than 60 papers were submitted for the seminar by research scholars and educators from all over the country and only 20 papers were selected by SCERT.

Salwanians Receiving Accolades in the Commerce Talent Search Test

We are proud to share that Sumedha Longani of class XI D and Sirjan Singh Nanda of class XI E have received a consolation prize of ₹500 each in The Commerce Talent Search Test – Commerce Wizard. It is a diagnostic test that measures the concept understanding ability of a student. The students were tested in online mode in four subjects- Business Studies, Accountancy, Economics, and Aptitude.

Melange - War of Words

Saksham Bidani of class VIII E secured the III position in the ‘War of Words’ competition organized under the event ‘Melange’ at Suncity School, Gurugram. Saksham was able to impress the judges with his arguments on the topic ‘Gender Inequality’. The competition witnessed participation from 46 schools and provided an opportunity to the students to enhance their critical thinking and public speaking skills.

District Level Debate Competition

We are proud to share that Jia Arora of Class X and Gurbani Kaur of Class IX secured the First Position in the District Level Debate Competition. They will now represent the school and the District at the State Level Debate Competition. We wish them all the very best!

Zonal Hindi Essay Writing Competition - December 2021

Bhavya Kalra of Class VIII- B SPSA made the School proud by bagging   the First Prize in the Zonal Hindi Essay Writing Competition (Junior Girls Category)  held at G.D.Salwan Public School, Rajendra Nagar  in the month of December. The topic of the Essay writing was Bal Majdoori. She has also participated in the District Level Competition and the result is awaited.

Zonal English Essay Writing Competition

Saksham Bidani of class VIII E made the school proud by bagging the first prize in the junior category of Zonal English Essay Writing competition held on 28th December 2021. The theme of the essay writing competition was ‘Small steps to Big World’ and our young writer was appreciated for his extremely well-written essay.

He has further been selected for the District Level Competition.

Zonal English Slogan Writing Competition - December 2021

Binwant Singh of Class VIII D bagged the second position in the Zonal English Slogan Writing Competition held at Andhra Education Society on 23rd December 2021. His slogan on the theme ‘Stay strong and stay healthy’ in the present circumstances was appreciated by one and all.

He has also participated in the District Level Competition.

Vidhyarthi Vigyan Manthan

We are proud to share that five students – Hemang Jarolia, Somya Kumar, Jayesh Goel, Kumar Siddhant and Drish Goel of our school have secured the top ranks in the District Level Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan Examination 2021-2022. Out of these five meritorious students, three students – Drish Goel of class IX, Kumar Siddhant of class VIII and  Jayesh Goyal of class VII have qualified for the State Level Camp-VVM 2021-2022.

 

Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) is an initiative of Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), in collaboration with Vigyan Prasar, an autonomous organization under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). VVM is a national program for popularizing science among school students of classes VI to XI, conceptualised to identify the bright minds with a scientific aptitude among the student community.

Nurturing Scientists of the Future

Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) scheme is one of the flagship programmes of Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India.

We are proud to share that in the month of December, four students of the school have been selected under the INSPIRE Award Scheme for the Year 2021-22. Each student has been rewarded Rs. 10,000/- for designing unique models.

Zonal Punjabi Poem Recitation Competition 2021

It was a proud moment for the school when Jeewanjot Singh of Class IX-B won the first prize in Zonal Punjabi Poem Recitation Competition held at Salwan Senior Secondary Girls School on 28th December 2021. The young poet enthralled the audience with his fluent and rhythmic recital of the poem titled ‘Anekta Vich Ekta’, composed by Bir Singh ji and won accolades for the same.

Zonal Debate Competition 2021

Deliberation and debate is the way you stir the soul of humanity.’

The school organised and hosted the Zonal Debate Competition 2021 mandated by the Directorate of Education on 28th December 2021.  The competition was held in two categories – Junior and Senior for classes VI-VIII and IX-XII respectively. 

The event witnessed active participation from 16 schools in the two categories. The participating teams were given a choice to speak about ‘E-Learning versus Classroom learning’ or ‘Group Study is more effective than studying alone.’ 

Jia Arora of class X C and Gurbani Kaur of IX A made the school proud by bagging the second prize in the Senior Category of the competition. The students were judged on the basis of factual information, peer cohesiveness, delivery, comprehension and rebuttal. 

The participants expressed their views on the topics dauntlessly and their presentations consisted of reasonable arguments as well as convincing facts. The competition provided students with a platform to express their opinions confidently and enrich their perspectives.

Sustainable Development Goals Congress 2021

The Sustainable Development Goals are a collection of 17 interlinked global goals designed to be a “blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all”. These goals were set up by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015 and are intended to be achieved by the year 2030.

Students of the school participated in the Sustainable Development Goals Congress 2021, an international event organized on a virtual platform by Bal Bharti Public School, Dwarka on 22nd December 2021. Four of our students in two teams submitted one research paper each on SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure and SDG 5 – Gender Equality.

Saarthak Sehgal and Sharvil Rai of Class IX received the Maximum Outreach Award in SDG 9 Category (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) for their prototype project that involves the manufacturing of a compact Electricity Generating Contraption that will enable the generation of electricity in every household. This machine will also help clear the pollutants present in water.

Aryan Chawla and Ashmit Aggarwal of Class IX received a verbal mention for their project in SDG 5 Category (Gender Equality). 

Nurturing Stargazers

Saksham Bidani of class VIII E and Ashmit Agarwal of class IX A have created history by making a provisional discovery of an Asteroid in the recently held event All-India Asteroid Search Campaign, 2021 organized by SPACE India.

Both the students underwent rigorous training on how to operate the software Astrometrica. During the campaign, they analysed the radio signals, brightness, movement of small dots in the sky, and datasets each day until the final discovery of an asteroid. For the next 6-10 years, International Astronomical Search Collaboration (I.A.S.C.) would identify the path and trajectory that the asteroid follows, after which the students would be asked to officially give it a name.

WOW Open Door

It gives us immense happiness to share that Anvay Gupta of Class VII E is among the top 10 winners of the WOW Open Door Q5. The contest aims to enhance students’ interest in Science and Mathematics through a series of questions shared fortnightly.   The competition witnessed the participation of more than  3600 students across schools in India and the UAE.

Tara Sabharwal - Our Budding Writer

Climbing the ladder of success, our writer prodigy Tara Sabharwal has added another feather to the cap by publishing one more Book, ‘An Amazing Rescue’ – a Groom Lost in a Jungle’. Tara brought glory to the school by becoming the youngest author at the age of eight, when she published her first book titled ‘Once Upon a Time..Modern Time Moral Stories’.

The school is proud of the twinkling ‘Star’- Tara Sabharwal.

Salwan Model United Nations E-Conference 2021

It’s indeed a proud moment for us to share that Ananya Mahajan and Adarsh Jain of class XI F have been acknowledged with Special Mention and Uprising Speaker Award  respectively from the jury,  at the Salwan Model United Nations E-Conference 2021 hosted by Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar on 27th and 28th November 2021. The event aims to build consciousness and sensitize the young learners about global issues by bringing real situations to the table.

Certificate of Active Participation at Open Door Wow for Kids Contest in Q4

It’s an honour for the school to be awarded a Certificate by Open Door Education for active participation in the Open Door’s WOW for Kids Contest in Q4. The school has been a partner with Open Door Education since 2016 with a primary objective to provide a platform to the students to gain in-depth mastery in subjects such as Maths and Science.

Your Pages Competition 2021

Albert Einstein has rightly said “Creativity is intelligence having fun.” The budding writers of Salwan have once again proved their creative potential and impressed one and all with their thoughtful poems and stories written in the most enthralling manner.

Maxfest 2021

Aarav Gupta of Class VII A secured the third position in Role-Play Maxfest Event organized by Maxfort School, Dwarka on 30th October 2021.He enacted the role of Captain Vikram Batra who was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military decoration for his valour and actions during the Kargil War in 1999. Aarav narrated Captain Batra’s life story with the help of interesting props and costumes.

International Competition Fest ‘Avant Garde – 2021’

The students of Classes IV-XI brought laurels by bagging several prizes at an Inter-school Competition Fest– Avant Garde 2021. The  event was organised by Army Public School, Noida on 28th October 2021 in the online mode and witnessed the participation of more than 30 schools across Delhi NCR.

The competition aimed to ignite the young minds and kindle their desire to bring about a positive change in their surroundings.

Synergy 2021

Salwanians added another feather to their cap by bagging prizes in various categories in ‘Synergy 21’, an annual inter school event organised by The Srijan School, Model Town, New Delhi. The competitions were held online in the month of October and saw the participation of more than 16 schools from Delhi NCR. Our students received acclaim for composing slam poetry, making a bookmark using natural indicators, and explaining the topic ‘Law of Demand‘ in a fun-filled way.

TOGETHER WE CAN CHALLENGE- OCT 2021

The students of Classes IX and XI brought laurels to the School by winning the Runners up Trophy in Together We Can Challenge – 2021 Competition organised by Nirmal Bhartia School, Dwarka, Delhi. The competition was held on 27th October,2021 in the online mode. Using Minecraft software, the team designed a smart city model that would reduce the per capita ecological footprint of city dwellers. The model encouraged the installation of solar panels, rain water harvesting tanks, windmills, sewage treatment plants and segregation of waste to achieve the goal of sustainable development.

AIIMS Anastomosis-2021

An Inter-School Scientific Aptitude Competition was organized by AIIMS for the children of classes IX and X on 5th September 2021. The competition was conducted with a vision to keep the creativity, curiosity and the essence of science alive amongst students.

Based on their outstanding performance, the students were invited on 26th September 2021 to visit the medical institute for a scientific excursion. 

Students gained practical knowledge during their visit to AIIMS which included talks by eminent doctors and scientists and demonstration of various research facilities at the institute. A plethora of  interesting and engaging activities such as demonstration and working of Electron microscope and CPR Session were also conducted.

Mathletics 2021

Souvik Sasmal of Class VII A (Afternoon) made the school proud by receiving Jury Award in an online Interschool Mathematics Competition organized by DPS Gurgaon School. The event was held from 24th August 2021 to 8th September 2021 and saw the participation of 170 students from various schools in five different categories. He made a poster showing the relevance and real-life application of Mathematics.

Explorika 2021

Salwanians once again made the School proud by securing various prizes in an Inter-school Event Explorika, 2021 SDG’ Special. The event was organised by Bal Bharati Public School, Rohini on 17th August 2021 and witnessed the participation of eighty three schools. MINDSPARK 2021

The students of Classes VI and VIII participated in an online Inter School Science Competition organized by Salwan Public School, Gurugram on 7th August 2021. The event witnessed active participation from 15 leading schools across Delhi and NCR.

 The competition laid emphasis on catalyzing and energizing research and innovation to uncover something new for the betterment of the society. It has also helped students to develop their creativity and problem-solving skills. 

Kshitij Tanwar of VIII B and Aditya Khanna of VIII C were acknowledged for Outstanding Achievement in Class VIII category for creating an unconventional project, ‘Covifree Latch’. Seerat Kaur of VI B won A+ in Class VI Category for designing a Motorised Dish Washer.

Yatharth Dahuja of Class XII A made the school proud by securing the First Position in Epiphany event organized on 23rd August 2021 at St Thomas’ School, Mandir Marg. Yatharth presented his thoughts in the form of a self-composed poem ‘What we know not’ on the theme ‘India at the Crossroads’.

Model United Nations Conference

The students of Classes XI and XII participated in an online Model United Nations Conference organised by The Heritage School, Vasant on 24 th & 25 th July 2021. They deliberated on the BIPOC Movement (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) with their counterparts from other participating schools. The event was an academic simulation of the United Nations, which aims to make the young learners understand the current global issues.

Mohak Khanna of Class XII F made the School proud by receiving a Special Mention from the jury, whereas Sabal Handa of Class XI B received verbal appreciation for his presentation.

Eloquence- Inter-school Literary Event

It’s a matter of great pride that young Salwanians won accolades by bagging various prizes in  an Inter-school Online Hindi Literary Event ‘Eloquence’. The event which was organized by K.R.Mangalam World School, GK II on 31st July, 2021 witnessed the participation of 40 schools.

Dhwani Sharma of Class VIII- C secured the Second Position with her enthralling recital of shlokas in Sanskrit Shlok Recitation.

Hemang Jarolia of Class VIII-D tickled the funny bone of one and all and won praises by securing the First Position in event Hasya Kavita.

Vaishnavi Pathak of Class IV- D mesmerized the audience with her enactment and secured the Second Position in the event Ekal Abhinay.

Gyaanspace - The India Heritage Quiz Competition

Aarshveen Kaur Vohra of Class VIII D and Keya Jarolia  of Class IV C made the School proud by scoring a Perfect Score (150/150), and securing the First Position in the Senior Category and the Third Position (130/150) in the Junior Category respectively in The India Heritage Quiz organised by Gyanspace. The National Level Competition was held online on 25th July, 2021. The quiz aimed at inculcating awareness about India ‘s diverse and vast cultural heritage.

Inter-school Debate Competition - 17th July 2021

Jia Arora and Kanak Sharma, the students of Class X made the School proud by bagging the First Prize in an  Online Interschool  Debate Competition. The competition was organised by Tulip International School, New Delhi on 17th July,2021. The topic for the debate was ‘Online Education can easily replace Schools’. There were about 32 contestants  from  16 schools across India. Kanak Sharma added another feather to the cap by bagging the Best Speaker Award. Both the students were applauded for handling the rebuttal and interjection with confidence and maturity.

Coding and Robotics Boot Camp organized by Techradiance

The students of Salwan Public School participated in Coding and Robotics Boot Camp organized by Techradiance in which VAISHNAVI PATHAK of Class IV participated in Code with Robots contest and emerged as the First runner up.

Mukhyamantri Vigyan Pratibha Pariksha, earlier known as Junior Science Talent Search Examination (JSTSE) is conducted every year at state level for the students of Class IX. It aims to identify and nurture the students who have exceptional interest in Science. In the session 2020-21, the exam was conducted on 28th March in offline mode.

Salwan Mayur Vihar Model United Nations E-Conference

Seven students from the school got an opportunity to participate in the Salwan Mayur Vihar Model United Nations E-Conference held on 10th and 11th May, 2020. The event aimed at building consciousness and sensitizing the young learners about the global issues. MUN committees were divided into three general sessions giving the students ample chance to collaborate, research, discuss and debate on the resolutions and the amendments with their counterparts. The students also learnt the art of critically examining the foreign policy of the country. 

Lakshita of Class XI secured High Commendation Award and a Cash Prize of Rs 700, whereas Mansha Gupta of Class XII received an Honourable Mention. Neha Jain of Class XII also won an award and a cash prize of Rs. 500 for the Best Poetry. Model United Nations Conference was indeed a fruitful educational simulation cum academic exercise which helped students learn about diplomacy, international relations and the efficacy of the United Nations.

CBSE Certificate of Appreciation-2019

The school has been awarded Certificate of Appreciation for contributing appropriate, relevant and innovative content under the Vidya Daan program, a program based on sourcing of content from teachers and meant to synergize countrywide developments by providing schools and teachers from the Metro cities to the smallest villages with good e-content that can be used by them anytime, anywhere at no cost.

Triumph in District- Level Semi-Classical Vocal Music Competition!

In a symphony of talent and passion,  Chirag Paramanik from Class X A and Kannanvir Singh from Class VIII B, achieved a resounding victory by securing the coveted First Position in both the Senior and Junior categories respectively, at the District-Level Semi-Classical Vocal Music Competition organised by the DOE. Their melodious voices resonated with excellence, earning them well-deserved accolades.

 

Drawing Competition organised by Asian Hospital

Souvik Sasmal of Class IX D, has once again showcased his artistic prowess by securing the Second Position in the 13th On the spot  Drawing Competition held on November 26, 2023, at Asian Hospital, Faridabad.

His artwork on the theme “Ek Bharat Anek Tyohar” not only garnered applause but also earned him a well-deserved cash award of Rs 10,000, a testament to his creativity and thoughtful perspective.

DELHI STATE CBSE CLUSTER XX ATHLETIC MEET

  • Yashika Sagar, student of XII G, demonstrated remarkable athletic prowess at the Delhi State Level, CBSE Cluster XX Athletic Meet. She secured Second Position in both the 100m and 200m races. She has qualified for the CBSE National Athletic Championship.
  • The Sub-Jr. Girls relay team secured the Third Position in the 4x100m event. The team comprised of Avani Arya (VII F), Kashvi Kakkar (VII D), Hanshika Pandey (VIII E), and Bhumi Tushid (VIII A). These achievements underscore the exceptional talents and collaborative spirit of these young athletes, bringing laurels to their school.

Delhi State Annual Athletics Championship 2023

Yashika Sagar student of class XII-G, SalwanPublicSchool, Rajendra Nagar, won Bronze medal in 100 metres Race, Under- 20 category (Girls) at the 83rd Delhi State Annual Athletics Championship 2023 organised by Delhi Athletics Association from 23rd September 2023 to 26th September 2023 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

Game-a-Thon

Vishika & Dhanvi of Class VII-G bagged the second position in the event Game-a-Thon, an Inter-School event held under Desh aur Hum 2.0. Students of class VII developed a game “Community Quest” which was an engaging resource management game. The game encouraged players to make strategic decisions, collaborate with virtual characters and understand the importance of resource allocation for the betterment of the community.

This prestigious event was organised by the National Academy of Direct Taxes, in collaboration with Salwan Education Trust. Over 150 schools from 11 different states of India participated in this grand event, showcasing their talent and dedication.

SRIJAN - CREATIVE ART COMPETITION

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to  our outstanding students  Shriya Jha (VII-C) and Sagufta Bano (VII-D, ) who have brought glory to our school by securing the 2nd position in the ‘Dream Catcher’ category at the Inter-School Creative Art Competition, Srijan. Our budding artist Souvik Sasmal of class IX D has been awarded the Winner’s Trophy in the Social Conclave organized by PHD Chambers of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with the Ministry of Jal Shakti, and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change on 27th April, 2023. The theme of the event was ‘New-age  technologies steering Water Sustainability’.

Mr Rohit Kamal, (TGT Art)  also received appreciation as a distinguished Art Educator in the conclave.

Tang Soo Do Championship

It’s our proud privilege to share that Navya Sikka of class X D has won a silver medal in the 9th National Tang Soo Do Championship organized by Tang Soo Do Sports Association from 4th-6th January 2023. Tang Soo Do is a martial art form based on Karate.

Aryabhata Ganit Challenge 2023

The AGC is a National Level Talent Search Exam conducted by CBSE for the students of classes VIII-X. We are proud to share that three students of our school have been placed in the top hundred students from the Delhi West region. The Computer Based Test focussed on the extent to which children are able to apply Mathematics to their daily life.

Delhi State Cricket Tournament

It’s our pleasure to share that our two budding cricketers Manthan Tanwar of class XI C and Ayush Patra of class IX B (SPSA) have made the school proud with their superlative achievements in the Under – 17 Delhi State Cricket Tournament. Manthan Tanwar’s performance was outstanding in the tournament with the highest of 99 runs in the semi-finals and 56 runs in 37 balls in the Finals.

CBSE NATIONAL ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIP

It is a matter of immense pride that Yashika Sagar (Class XI F) of SPS Rajendra Nagar has qualified for the CBSE National Athletics Championship to be held in Banaras from 1st to 4th February 2023.

She had bagged a Silver Medal in 100 m race and a Bronze Medal in 200m race in CBSE Cluster Championship held from 5th to 7th January 2023 at Bal Bharti Public School, Pitam Pura.

Our Computer Wizards in Junior category have brought laurels to the school by grabbing the second position in SYNC 2022 organized by New Era Public School, Mayapuri.

Lavanya Sachdeva of Class XI B clinched the 1st position in District Level Indian Classical Vocal Competition. Lavanya performed the traditional Khayal composition ‘Aiso sughar sundarwa balamwa’, Lavanya has a lovely tone in her voice and displayed great control throughout the performance. The FIT INDIA Movement was launched on 29th August, 2019 by the Honourable Prime Minister with a view to make fitness an integral part of our daily lives. It’s our proud privilege to share that Souvik Sasmal of Class VII A (Afternoon) bagged the Second Prize at the Asian Drawing Competition held on 14th November 2021. The competition was organised by Asian Institute of Medical Sciences, Faridabad. His painting  titled India’s Space Journey won him a cash award of Rs 10000/- in the 9-12 Years Category.

Basketball Zonal Championship - Nov 2021

It’s our proud privilege to share that the Basketball Team of Salwan Public School, Rajendra Nagar won the Zonal Championship 2021-2022 held at Bal Bharti School, Pusa Road from 8th to 9th November 2021. The Senior Girls team attained the First Position. The Senior Boys team secured the Second Position, and the Junior Boys team bagged the Third Position. The players have been qualified to represent the school at the Inter Zonal Championships.

TECHNOPHILIA 2.0 – OCT 2021

The Little Techno Wizards of the School  have proved once again that Technology is the way forward. In an Inter School Computer Competition organised by Mamta Modern Senior Secondary School, our computer geeks made the School proud by winning  the First Prize in various competitions on the  theme ‘Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Development Goals’. Chunauti - 2021

Salwanians brought laurels to the School by bagging prizes in various categories in a highly prestigious competition Chunauti –  2021. The online competition was organized  by Apeejay Public School, Saket on 5th and 6th August, 2021. The International event witnessed participation from  49 schools across India, Sharjah, Dubai and Kuwait.

Inter-school Lokgeet Competition

Our budding singers were conferred with the Third Prize in Inter-school Lokgeet Competition Category. Participating schools shared their videos with the host school which were judged by highly acclaimed singers. Our eight students from Classes VI – IX won the hearts of the jury with their Punjabi Lokgeet ‘ud da tu jaanvi ve kaanva.’

Revoir History

Souvik Sasmal of Class VII(SPSA) added another feather to our cap by securing Second Position in the Revoir History Category of Chunauti – 2021. It was a n Art Competition in which the contestants were to draw a historical event on the basis of the given passage on  the theme  ‘The Dandi March’ . Souvik’s work of art received a tremendous response from the judges and was adjudged as the second best.

Salwanians Shine at Curious Times

An online  Flameless Cooking Challenge was organised by Curious Times – a news website for children from 16th July to 18th July 2021. Eight students from Classes VI-IX participated in the online Challenge and six students won laurels for the school. They were adjudged as the ‘Outstanding Performers’ and some of their recipes also found space in the online Newspaper of Curious Times.

The Students of Classes III-V participated in an online Inter-school Painting Competition in the month of June. The event was organised by Delhi City School, Rohini, New Delhi.

Charvi of Class III A bagged The Star Painting Award, whereas Taashvi of Class III B received Special Appreciation from the judges.

Painting Competition

Art brings people together and infuses creativity and happiness. In order to keep our children engaged in these unprecedented times, a Painting Competition on the theme ‘Old is Gold’ was organised by the Art Department of the school for our young artists in the following categories:
Category Theme
Group A (VI-VIII) Standing Figure with Tribal or Traditional Dress of any State of Indi
Group B (IX-X) Postal Stamp before 1980
Group C (XI-XII) Bollywood Film Poster before 1980
The students enthusiastically participated in the activity and submitted their entries online. The best artworks from each category have been awarded with the top three positions and the consolation prizes. Congratulations to our budding artists!

The Green Schools Award 2020

We are proud to share that Salwan Public School, Rajendra Nagar has been rated Green in the GSP Audit 2019-20 and is shortlisted in the Green category for the GSP Climate Change Awards from over 1700 schools across the country.

The Green Schools Award Ceremony was organized by Center for Science and Environment on Wednesday 6th February 2020 at the Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.
