The School organized the Investiture Ceremony on 29th July 2017 in the School Ground to decorate the newly elected Student Council for the session 2017-2018.

The programme was graced by the presence of two eminent alumni of the school- Dr. (Mrs) Veena Doda, Director, Pathology Lab at Dr.Doda's Diagnostics and Healthcare and Mr. Naresh Priyadarshi, CEO, SSCBS Innovation and Incubation Foundation (SIIF).

In her address the Principal, Dr.( Mrs) Indu Khetarpal, applauded the efforts of the outgoing Council and at the same time encouraged the new Council members to understand the true meaning of leadership. "One can be a born leader or one can groom oneself to be a leader," she added, quoting examples of our ex- Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi and present Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

The new appointees received their ties and badges from the esteemed guests. The outgoing Headboy, Shivam Dixit, administered the oath of office to the new Council members.

The decoration and felicitation of the new Council members was followed by an Interactive Session with the guests. The two ex-Salwanians were flooded with nostalgic memories from their school life and shared the same with the students. They also talked about the role of their alma mater in grooming them into successful individuals.

Dr. Doda stressed upon the need for the society to be more sensitive towards community health and hygiene. She further asked the students to act as agents of change that they wish to see around them. She emphasized on the need for women empowerment. "One must always fight for one's rights and never give up or give in when faced with difficult situations," she added.

Mr. Priyadarshi urged the students to be role models. He stated that leadership begins with self-discipline and once an individual learns to be focused and in control of one's actions, then everything falls into place. He recounted the day when on the same stage, during his school days, he was appointed the Prefect of Buddha House. He also felt proud to be a part of the Salwan fraternity as a member of the Management Committee.
