Transformative Adventures: Students and Teachers Explore Jim Corbett and Nainital
The Summer Vacation led groups of students and teachers on transformative adventures to Jim Corbett and Nainital, creating unforgettable memories from May 21 to 23, 2024.
About 74 students and 7 escorting teachers engaged themselves in challenging activities such as Monkey Cross, Suspension Bridge, and Commando Bridge, which fostered in them qualities of courage, cooperation, and perseverance. They also had the opportunity to visit the Nainital Observatory, making the most through constellation hunts using planispheres. The thrilling jungle safari offered encounters with Jim Corbett’s wildlife, including deer and monkeys, deepening their connection with nature. The walk through the Mall Road strengthened further bonding and rejuvenated the students.
From May 26 to 28, another group of 63 students from classes VI and VII, duly accompanied by 6 teachers, embarked on a similar adventure. Their trip emphasized biodiversity and environmental appreciation. The safari and visits to Nainital’s Observatory and Mall Road, guided by astronomers, provided firsthand experiences of the natural world and the universe, including observing the Leo Trio constellation. Team-building activities like Passing the Bottle and Net Crossing further enhanced their learning experience.
These journeys, beyond the classroom walls, promoted personal growth, teamwork, and environmental responsibility, imbibing the students with enduring values of sportsmanship, self-discipline, and a cherished bond with nature.
