The Heritage Club of the school organized a Philately Exhibition in the School from 24th August to 26th August 2023 for classes V-XII. Philately is the study and appreciation of postage stamps and postal heritage. The exhibition aimed at motivating the students towards the conservation of the print heritage of India. The theme of the exhibition was ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and the key exhibits included postage stamps, cartoons and caricatures, rare posters and a collection of coins.
During the visit, the learners witnessed the exquisite collection of rare symbols of Indian heritage. They were able to appreciate the importance of stamps, coinage, posters and photographs as a source of history. The students were inspired to take up philately as a hobby as they wanted to know about the sources of procurement, time and finances involved and other relevant details.
