Global Learning: Ulster Faculty Visits Salwan School
To foster a collaborative educational ecosystem, a delegation of professors from Ulster University visited the school on 25 July, 2024. This visit aimed to strengthen the connection between academia and school education, enriching the learning experiences of both students and educators. The faculty included Mr. Jim McLaughlin, Professor of Biomedical Engineering; Professor Christopher Nugent, Head of the School of Computing, and Ms. Smitha Shankar, Student Advisor for Global Recruitment and Engagement.
Mr. Jim McLaughlin, a physicist and Director of the Nanotechnology and Integrated Bioengineering Centre (NIBEC), interacted with Class XII Biology and Biotechnology students, discussing the opportunities available at their university. Professor Christopher Nugent, Director of the Computer Science Research Institute and also Professor of Biomedical Engineering, apprised the students about various career opportunities and the latest trends in the field of computer science.
