To commemorate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, National Academy of Direct Taxes organized a National-Level Inter-School competition: Desh Aur Hum, in collaboration with Salwan Education Trust. The programme commenced with an Orientation Programme at Salwan Public School, Rajendra Nagar on 8th July 2022 which saw the participation of more than hundred schools from all over India. The students participated in a variety of competitions like, a poster-making competition: Paint the Point; a bookmark-making competition: Mark My Words; a self-composed poem competition; Wise Verse, an elocution competition; Abhivyakti, and a Nukkad Natak competition: Awaaz.
The event culminated with a Felicitation Ceremony that was organised at the Kedarnath Auditorium on 9th September 2022. The Chief Guest for the event was Shri Madhukar Kumar Bhagat, ADG, NADT, RC Delhi and the Guest of Honour was Shri Sushil Dutt Salwan, Chairman, Salwan Education Trust.
Shri Sushil Dutt Salwan, in his address, encouraged students to be honest taxpayers. He assured the house that students in all Salwan Schools will be trained in taxation.
The event aimed to sensitise the student fraternity towards the prompt payment of taxes and its importance in the development of a nation.
