The Salwan Education Trust, in collaboration with National Academy of Direct Taxes organised an orientation programme ‘Desh aur Hum’ on 8th July, 2022. The program was conducted to create awareness among the young citizens of the country about the taxes. It was attended by more than 50 schools from Delhi and NCR.
Mr Madhukar Kumar Bhagat, Additional Director General, NADT, Ms. Ranu Mukherjee, Commissioner of Income Tax(OSD), National Academy of Direct Taxes, Regional Campus Delhi, Ms. Seema Dhankar, Joint Director of Income Tax, National Academy of Direct Taxes, Regional Campus, Delhi and Mr. Rajesh Singh Rawat, Assistant Director of Income Tax graced the occasion with their presence.
Shri Sushil Dutt Salwan, Chairman SET, welcomed the dignitaries and the teachers present there from all across Delhi and NCR. He emphasised on the importance of taxation and pledged Salwan Education Trust’s honest commitment to the nation. A short film, highlighting the various developments and achievements in the Income Tax Department throughout the years was played to reinforce the importance and need to pay taxes. Shri Madhukar Kumar addressed the gathering.
Shri Madhukar Kumar addressed the gathering and spoke about the domain of knowledge and learning by reminding us of our scriptures- the Vedas and Upanishads. He further elaborated upon our significance as taxpayers and added that certain qualities in humans make them valuable to society. These are creativity, empathy and communication. In the end, he asserted the need to inculcate confidence and enthusiasm for participation in children. After the insightful speech, an interactive session was held which provided clarity about the theme of the programme.
