At 6.25 the school wore a deserted look and just in a span of 5 minutes the school was a buzz with students who were fighting to be leaders. The battle field was all set for the best leader to win and overcome all obstacles.

A camp which was set rolling at Ramjas Sports Complex but ended with a bang in the vicinity of the school itself. A camp which truly focused on sensitizing the participants to different aspects of team work and also to overcome the personal fears. And believe you me! The whole experience turned out to be much more exciting amazing and dynamic than one could have ever expected.

The morning kick-started with activities like rock climbing, rapelling, river crossing, tarzan rope, burma bridge and the likes. And out there it was all about judging the physical strength, leadership qualities and not to forget the team spirit. And all these thrilling activities kept the students craving for more and more.

Switch over to the afternoon and there we were in our very own school all set and ready to set the ball rolling for the day. And once we had had the rest of the meal it was time for the fish bowl which was all about values based discussions, focused thinking, empathy for other creating space for others and taking up initiatives.

Ah! But don’t you think that we were approaching the end rather there was a full palate of activities waiting ahead, which included the very exciting theatre that aimed at inculcating resourcefulness, stage confidence and initiative in the leaders of tomorrow. The next thing in store was tent pitching which brought with itself qualities like working effectively in group situations, showing tolerance, listening carefully and showing responsibility. And from here, there was no looking back. The journey from dusk to dawn may have come to an end that very day but the memories, the experience and the qualities notified to us is going to stay with each one of us forever.

10 SAMANVAY-A Cultural Evening

Dance and music define the aspirations of people worldwide, their feelings, emotions and even their frustrations. On the other hand they are the great sources which help mankind to find oneness with God. Lively music sets the soul free, dance gives us the power to be energetic and enthusiastic.
In India, music and dance ignite every social sphere of interaction-- in temples, in courts and pleasure palaces, villages and their chaupals, precisely because both these art forms uplift us spiritually as well as sooth our senses.
Salwan Public School provides ample opportunities for students to pursue music, art and dance extensively. They are encouraged to enrol in certified courses from recognized universities and regular classes are conducted for them so that by the time they pass out of school, they also become professional, accredited artists in their respective fields.

It is for these very students, who willingly go that extra mile that a cultural evening ‘Samanvay’, an amalgamation of music and dance is going to be held at Sriram Centre, Mandi House on 14th of May, 2008, 6.30 p.m. onwards. The promising artists will be blessed by Smt. Prathibha Prahlad, Managing Trustee , Prasiddha Foundation .
