As they say, change doesn’t happen till you realize the need; and then, if you really want it, realisation is the first step, conviction and commitment being the other two to bring about the change you want.

Nanhi Chhaan was conceptualized as a project after realizing the obliviousness and apathy towards the state of woman and girl- child and of the environment. Is it not worth pondering why Mothers and trees, two of nature’s greatest givers, face such unprecedented harm?

The need to change the attitude is there. The need to change this indifference is there.

Nanhi Chhaan is committed to change this very attitude and to help in re-establishing the balance. The mission is to engage and support initiatives for persuading citizens, institutions and nations to work at the social, cultural, economic and legal levels to ensure positive change affecting the girl child in particular and woman’s rights in general. Further, to engage with people and institutions to spread awareness on the importance of protecting the environment and for preserving our green cover for sustaining life on the planet.

Amongst the many ways that Nanhi Chhaan will adopt to make this change, an important one will be to use the positive power of faith.
