‘ Terror has no religion, no cause, no nation. It serves no purpose and has no place anywhere…’

                                 

 

Holy war, suicide bombings, fighting for faith and killing in the name of God – from Crusaders to terrorists, from sacred shrines to New York city, history is tainted by a  grave disease afflicting humankind – Terrorism. And we who have grieved so often for attacks on our people can feel in our bones the shock and the grief, the fear and trauma of those affected. Since violence and destructive strategies cannot be justified for any cause, terrorism has no cause and of course no religion.

The spineless politicians ruining our government are the ones responsible for the lack of adequate security to combat terrorist   activities in our country. Their speeches are powerful but the words are weak, their promises are  enduring but the work is feeble . Their dreams are mighty  but the ways are mangy . In order to create a niche for themselves in the political arena they are working in a manner which is detrimental to the social fabric of the society . They are using religion as a tool to divide masses in order to fulfill their selfish motives .

 

The terrorist organizations misinterpret  religion in order to mobilize the impoverished youth in the country .The large scale poverty and unemployment in  the country has somewhere led youth to fall prey  to these  terrorists gangs .

 

Above all, the growing evils of conservatism , intolerance , inequality discrimination  which in turn are the result of our narrow thinking is  another grave cause for dividing the society and provoking the radical reactionary elements to perpetuate terror.

 

 

These challenges in the way of communal harmony can only be curbed with the goodness in our religions which have always emphasized on the virtues of equality , unity,love,morality and peace .

Thus, it is very important for us to reform our way of thinking. There is a need to change  our way of thinking from ‘ my religion’ to  ‘ our religion’ .It’s important for us to develop a matured understanding of the word ‘ faith’ .It is this  change at the root level which has to precede the changes at  the policy level. The youth of the country has to be the torch bearer of this change.

Apart from this,  there is a need to gear up our defense mechanism in a manner which is much more efficient in combating terrorist activities .A  sense of accountability must prevail in our political leaders who run our nation who  often try to shift  responsibilities. The time has now come to give military  training  to the masses so that we do not have to wait for our military personnels  to come and save our lives in any difficult situation .

 

Terrorism is not limited to any one country , therefore , all the nations of the world must come together to fight this grave disease.

The terrorists want to break the very backbone of our country by attacking the common man .It is not a time to fall into their trap and be the victims of internal fights and serve their motives of running the country . It’s time to use our diffused frustration , anger and cynicism as  a constructive and aggressive move towards bringing a  change.
