In the year 1941, Pt. Girdhari Lal Salwan embarked on a mission to provide ‘Education to All’ regardless of social and religious status. He set up the Salwan Education Trust. The Trust withstood the storms of time and successfully set up 11 prestigious educational institutions in Delhi and NCR. The Platinum Jubilee of the inception of the Trust was celebrated with great fervour throughout 2016.
2016 was a landmark year in the history of Salwan Education Trust as it strode into its 75th year. The Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of the Trust commenced with a Mahayagya on 22nd April, 2016. The Mahayagya invoked the blessings of the Almighty for equipping all the Salwan Institutions to continue to train the future generations for a greener, peaceful, compassionate and happier world.
The Mahayagya was organized at Salwan Campus, Rajendra Nagar. Twelve Acharyas under the able guidance of Acharya Shri Ashok Dwivedi from Kashi Vishwanath performed the yagya. The programme was attended by 6000 students from Salwan schools, parents and other stakeholders of the Trust. Salwanians got the unique opportunity to learn and connect with India’s rich traditions and culture through the ceremony of the yagya and the process of organising an event of this magnitude.
Shri Harpal Singh, Trustee, Salwan Education Trust, Mentor and Chairman Emeritus Fortis Healthcare, in his keynote address inspired the young Salwanians to be wise, alert, respectful and good citizens with love and pride for their country.
Shri Sushil Dutt Salwan, Chairman, Salwan Education Trust along with Miss Bahaar Batra and Master Shivam Dixit from Salwan Schools extended the vote of thanks ‘Shukrana’. In their speech they thanked the Almighty and the Salwan fraternity who have been instrumental in helping Salwan Schools to become institutions of excellence.
Priti Bhoj was served to the Acharyas and the guests by the students and staff.
